This MUSH is, as can be guessed, based on the world of J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter books. A working knowledge of the books, and the world described within them, is strongly urged upon those who would like to play here. You need not have read all books presently out, but it is strongly advised that you have read at least the first book in the series (Harry Potter and the Sorceror's Stone, US edition, or Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, UK edition) and be at least familiar with the events of the following books, up to the end of the fourth book. At this point our timeline diverges; we do not use Order of the Phoenix on this game.

News Timeline
There is a good master timeline on the Harry Potter Lexicon (http://www.hp-lexicon.org), with which we are not affiliated, but we recommend as a good online resource for all canon things Harry Potter. This timeline should NOT be considered a replacement for having read and understood the books themselves, but rather a supplement to refresh the memory. We recommend that everyone read the books - moreso because the books are in and of themselves highly enjoyable, and a pleasurable experience to read, without which this place would never have been built!

A note also on our time ratio : time on the game versus time in real life is 1:1; that is, for every day that passes in the real world, a day passes in the game.
